Angela has been blessed to have great mentor's, parent's and friends in her life. These people helped shape her to be the person she is today. Angela completed six years in the Army once graduating from high school. She went onto working in the healthcare profession as a nursing assistant for several years while completing her education. She graduated with her Bachelor's degree from California State University, and with a Master's degree from Argosy University-Bay Area. Angela's clinical focus was in Counseling Psychology and Criminal Justice.
Once she completed her education, she worked in social services at a non-profit agency as a Resource Center Director, Program Manager and a Marriage and Family Therapist Intern. After moving to San Diego, she became a Program Manager with a non-profit where she was helping birth parents reconnect with their children through parenting services. Angela has worked as a TERM therapist through Optum and Child Welfare Services, works in her own private practice and is a therapist and supervisor more recently through the County of San Diego. Angela reports loving the work she does.
Her passion is to help people find that moment in their lives where they can love themselves and tap into their own internal strength. Angela has a wonderful adult son. Being a parent does not define who Angela is but rather it shapes the kind of person she aspires to be. Angela reports having learned more about herself and the boundaries she chooses to have in life because she is a mother, a daughter, a sister, a professional, a peer, and a friend.
